    Pai tsai can be used in a variety of ways in the kitchen. It is delicious raw in salads, steamed, or cooked in soups such as ramen, stews and stir-fries. It is also delicious seasoned with soy sauce or sesame oil.

    Its crunchy, slightly sweet leaves add texture and flavor to many dishes. It can also be pickled or fermented for more complex preparations.

    Our tips for successfully growing your pai tsai

    Pai tsai is harvested when the leaves are tender and fully developed, when they reach around 6 cm. You can harvest the outer leaves by cutting them off near the base of the plant with clean scissors. Harvest the leaves as you need them, to keep the plant growing.
