Cayenne pepper will give your dishes a real kick! Native to Central America, this pepper is a staple of South American, Asian and African cuisine. Use sparingly!

Rich in antioxidants and vitamins, cayenne pepper is recognized for its antibacterial, antiseptic, diuretic and sudorific properties. Correctly dosed, it aids digestion. Its capsaicin content stimulates metabolism and has anti-inflammatory properties.

How can cayenne hot chili be associated?

How do you cook cayenne hot chili?

Cayenne pepper adds heat and spice to dishes. You can add it to sauces, marinades, soups, stews, meat dishes, vegetable dishes and even hot chocolates for a spicy touch. Use it to make tabasco, Indian curries or chili sauce. It can also be used to spice up guacamole or chili con carne, and goes very well with vegetables in woks. Don't hesitate to add it to your pizzas!

You can also use cayenne pepper to prepare spicy preserves such as hot sauces, condiments or vegetable pickles. You can also dry them to enjoy them all year round.

To avoid it becoming too hot, remember to remove the seeds before cooking.

Our tips for successfully growing your cayenne hot chili

After 4 to 8 days, the germ emerges from the seed to give rise to two small leaves (cotyledons), which grow and give rise to other leaves.

Each seed germinates at its own pace. Pepper germination is slow and temperamental. After 7 to 15 days, 3 to 5 holes give rise to young plants. The stem then widens and stiffens to form the chili plant.

After about 2 months, the first white flowers appear.

It's important to pollinate your flowers regularly throughout the flowering period, which lasts several weeks, in order to obtain maximum fruit. Ideally, pollinate your flowers every 2 days, when the lights are on (so that the flowers are open). Using a soft brush or your index finger, gently rub the inside of the flower to transfer the pollen to the pistil. A few days later, the petals will dry and fall off, giving way to a small purplish chilli which will gradually grow and turn red 1 month later.

What is the composition of a Lingot®?

Lingots® are patented 100% biodegradable and compostable refills.

They are guaranteed GMO-free and pesticide-free.

The Lingot® contains:

- a natural soiless media adapted to hydroponics

- pre-sown organic seeds

- essential nutrients

The substrate is made of coconut fibers (peatless). This plant-based material is a renewable resources. The honeycombed texture of Lingot® enables optimal rooting and oxygenation, which guarantees a fast and healthy growth of your plants.

The majority of the seeds we use are certified organic, some are untreated (to know which one, look at the description of each Lingot®).

The nutrients integrated in the substrate are made of minerals and elements essential for growth and assimilated directly by plants. They are dosed precisely so that the plant uses them entirely during its life cycle.

How long does it take for my plants to grow? How long do I have to wait before the first harvest?

Thanks to the Véritable® garden technology, plants grow 2 to 3 times faster than in a garden. Some plants can be harvested from 3 weeks.

The speed of growth depends on the species and the temperature of your room.

What is the lifespan of a Véritable® Lingot® once planted?

Once planted, a Lingot® enables you to harvest your herbs generously for 4 to 6 months. Indeed, after each harvest your plant grows back!

The duration of a Lingot® depends on each species and how you harvest.

After 4 to 6 months, depending on its condition, you can compost your plant, or transplant outdoors.

My sweet basil Lingot® did not sprout, what can I do ?

In spite of the performances of our apparatuses and the care which we bring to the manufacture of Lingots®, it can arrive that certain seeds do not develop correctly because they are living products. It should be known that the natural rate of germination of seeds varies between 65 and 95%. It is thus impossible for us to guarantee you a germination at 100%. However, we voluntarily planted more seeds than it is necessary in each Lingot® in order to obtain a good proportion of plants which arrive at maturity.
