    Romaine lettuce Lingot®

Romaine lettuce is wonderfully crispy and juicy, and slightly sweeter than other lettuces. It is a fundamental part of any Caesar salad. Romaine lettuce is also perfect in a mixed baby green salad. You can even cook it like spinach! When heated, it develops a slightly bitter taste that is similar to cooked chicory.

Our tips for successfully growing your romaine lettuce

To harvest romaine lettuce, you can cut the whole plant at the collar (the base of the leaves), or you can pick the outer leaves as you need them, leaving the inner leaves to continue growing.

To extend the harvesting season, we recommend picking romaine lettuce leaves regularly. You can start with the outer leaves closest to the crown and let the inner leaves continue to grow.
